Meet Your Captain
Captain James Hinton is originally from the Panhandle of Texas, where he raised a family and operated a successful cattle operation for over 30 years. Captain James came to the Coastal Bend area on an invite to bay fish for a weekend and then made several return trips there after. When he was looking to make a life change fishing seemed a natural fit. In 2020, he made the move to Rockport, Texas. He spent the next year learning the waters in and around the area. Additionally, he was mentored by several of the local fishing guides and he continues those relationships today.

In May 2023, Captain James was invited by Linsey Taylor and Sarah Bosenbury of Titty Deep Outdoors to participate in their podcast. During that interview he tells his whole story and how he came to be a fishing guide in Rockport. Follow the link and get to know the whole story in his own words.
In addition, Captain James is a pro-staffer with Waterloo Rod Company in Victoria, Texas as well as Texas Rattler in Rockport, Texas. He is a member of the Coastal Bend Guides Association, a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain and a Texas All Water Fishing Guide. He and his vessel are insured as well.
